A classic wooden courtyard teahouse in the middle of Ciqikou running daily traditional Sichuan Opera performances, including face-changing, long-spout tea pouring and traditional instrumentals.

"You're going to feel like a tourist here, and that's fine. Performances run on a rolling schedule roughly every hour, lasting 40 to 50 minutes. Tickets with tea run 38 to 68 RMB. Arrive 15 minutes before the next show and grab a front-row bamboo chair for the best angles. Watching a performer switch masks in a fraction of a second at close range is technically astonishing regardless of the commercial setting."
