About this place
The origin point of Chongqing — the city's first gate stood here six hundred years ago. The emerald Jialing and the muddy Yangtze meet here with a visible dividing line between them, as if drawn with a ruler.

"Don't stand in the middle of the plaza. Walk left toward the pier and go all the way to the end — that's where the color boundary between the two rivers is sharpest, green meeting yellow with no blending. Come during high water season at dusk and the river swells wide enough to feel like an ocean."
