A massive stilt-house complex built into the cliffside above the Jialing River, eleven stories of wooden architecture cascading down the rock face. At night the whole structure lights up and spills its reflection into the water below — the scene that made the world compare it to Spirited Away.

"Free entry, open all day, but night is the only time worth coming — lights on from 6pm to 11pm. Step inside and you'll find it's a heavily commercialized tourist street: souvenir shops, overpriced restaurants, and crowds that become genuinely difficult to move through in peak season. If that's not your thing, don't go in at all. Walk to Qiansimen Bridge instead and watch the whole building glow from across the river — that view is the real one."
