About this place
A street under a kilometer long, lined on both sides with Chongqing's city tree — the banyan — whose canopy closes overhead into a continuous green tunnel. Along its length sit Guiyuan, the Zhou Enlai Residence, and the Stilwell Museum, making it one of the densest concentrations of WWII history in the city.
Drifter says
"Walk to the plaza beside the Zhou Enlai Residence and you'll find a hidden viewpoint almost nobody knows: the Jialing River, Zengjia'an Bridge, and a passing monorail all enter the frame simultaneously, composing a layered portrait of the mountain city with no crowds and no noise. This street has old architecture, historical weight, and extraordinary shade — everything a citywalk needs. It won't appear on any tour group itinerary, but it stays with everyone who finds it. If time allows, give it half a day."
