An 1980s abandoned pottery kiln in the mountains outside University Town, converted into an art teahouse and restaurant that follows the natural contours of the hillside.

"If you've spent four days in the concrete and noise and need to remember that mountains exist, this is where you go. From the city center it's about one hour by taxi. Smarter route: take Metro Line 1 to Daxuecheng Station, then taxi another 15 minutes into the hills — around 20 to 30 RMB. Tea around 60 RMB, meals 100 to 150 RMB. You can also pay to try DIY pottery making. Spring and autumn are the best seasons — summer brings mosquitoes. Book ahead on weekends."
