About this place

An old river crossing point now sitting quietly beneath the massive concrete piers of the Jialing River Bridge and Yü'ao Bridge — stripped of its transit function, now used by local fishermen and winter swimmers.

Drifter says

"Take Metro Line 3 to Niujiaotuo Station, Exit A, then walk 10 to 15 minutes along the riverside path and descend the stone steps to the riverbank. Free entry. The bridge columns plunging straight into the muddy water make for powerful industrial geometry shots. In winter you'll find local cold-water swimming regulars going about their morning routines in the freezing Jialing. Hard rule: dry season only — in summer the floodwater completely submerges the foreshore and the current is extremely dangerous."
