Not a natural lake but a reservoir built in the 1950s to support Nan'an's early industrial water supply — designated as a drinking water source protection zone with all commercial development permanently prohibited.

"The total ban on recreational facilities has preserved a silence here that feels almost eerie after the city below. The lake is ringed by tall Metasequoia trees that turn a fierce amber-red from late November into December, reflecting in the deep green water — a Nordic conifer coldness that feels completely alien in cyberpunk Chongqing. Bring lunch. This is the best place in the southern districts for a solo traveler to fully decompress."
