About this place

The remarkably rare underground tomb of Ming Yuzhen, a 14th-century peasant rebel leader who established the short-lived Daxia Kingdom in Chongqing during the collapse of the Yuan Dynasty — housed in a dedicated exhibition hall embedded directly inside the Jiangbeizui financial district.

Drifter says

"Take Metro Line 6 to Jiangbeizui Station, Exit 3. Free entry, open 9am to 5pm, closed Mondays. The visit is short but the spatial dissonance is complete — one step takes you from the 21st century's most expensive financial real estate into a 14th-century royal burial chamber. The most quietly subversive cultural experience in Jiangbeizui, and almost no one knows it's there."
