About this place

One of the largest seafood and aquatic wholesale markets in western China — a massive, chaotic logistics hub processing tons of live seafood daily, with adjacent processing restaurants that cook whatever you buy on the spot.

Drifter says

"Take Metro Line 10 directly to Sanyawan Station. Go around 4 to 5pm, buy your seafood from the wholesale vendors, then take it next door to be cooked for dinner. Processing fees run roughly 15 to 30 RMB per dish depending on cooking method. Local river fish and grouper are the best buys. The vendors speak fast Chongqing dialect only — use your phone calculator to negotiate prices by typing numbers back and forth. The floor is perpetually wet and slippery; wear shoes with grip."
