About this place

A Buddhist nunnery with over 240 years of history, built during the Ming dynasty and tightly sandwiched between large commercial retail stores — five minutes on foot from Jiefangbei.

Drifter says

"One of the most easily missed temples in the city. Push open the wooden doors and the deafening retail noise outside vanishes instantly, replaced by incense smoke and the sound of chanting. The contrast between this ancient hidden monastery and the surrounding modern towers is striking. Coffee is served inside — an unexpected touch. On festivals and holidays the courtyard fills with worshippers; the Buddha statues are numerous and the incense burns thick."
