About this place
A massive glass dome housing rare tropical plants and cacti on a fog-shrouded Nanshan summit — built on land that once housed French and Soviet embassies and the villas of wartime VIPs during Chongqing's provisional capital period.
Drifter says
"Shoot from outside when the mountain fog rolls in — the glowing dome disappearing into jungle mist looks exactly like a sci-fi space colony that landed in the wrong century. While walking the perimeter, look away from the tropical plants and down at the retaining walls and stone steps: beneath dense ferns you can still identify the cut-stone masonry technique of 1930s Republican-era construction — the last foundations of former diplomatic mansions."
