A dramatic karst tabletop mountain in Nanchuan rising to over 2,200 meters, known for its cliffside plank walks suspended above vertiginous drops, rich biodiversity from subtropical to alpine zones, and winter snow landscapes rare in this part of China.

"No direct high-speed rail to Nanchuan — take a long-distance bus from Sigongli Bus Station in Chongqing, about 1.5 hours, then transfer to the mountain shuttle. Cable car up, then the cliffside boardwalk with sheer drops on both sides — not recommended if heights are a serious issue. Hidden detail: midway along the boardwalk is Gufo Cave, a narrow entrance that opens into an enormous natural cavern packed with lohan statues — the scale and density is overwhelming. Come in winter after snowfall for landscapes that look nothing like the rest of Chongqing."
