"This is the most natural transition point between Jiefangbei CBD and old city life — step in and the glass towers disappear, replaced by the smell of flowers, fruit and wanza noodles. The contrast between the flower stalls and the surrounding steel-and-concrete is exactly the kind of urban street energy worth photographing. The flower-style wanza noodles here are the most famous thing on the street. Watch an old man spend half an hour negotiating over a single orchid — the most grounded moment you'll find in this entire commercial district."
