A carefully restored historical district on the south bank cliffside, where Western-style brick buildings from the Republican era and traditional Bayu stilt houses stand side by side — with sweeping, unobstructed views of the Yangtze stretching out below.

Find a rooftop cafe before sunset, order an iced Americano, and watch the last light fall across the Yuzhong Peninsula skyline on the opposite bank. The effect is cinematic in a way that's hard to find anywhere else in the city. And the slopes here are considerably kinder on the knees than their counterparts across the river in Yuzhong."
