"Accessible by boat from Wushan county, reachable by high-speed rail from Chongqing. Pay extra for the smaller boat that goes deeper into the Mini Three Gorges — the narrow section where the cliff walls close in is the reason to come. Ancient hanging coffins are visible wedged into clifftop crevices. Critical warning: once the boat departs, the full round trip including the smaller boat transfer takes 4 to 5 hours on the water with no exit option. Bring food, water, and motion sickness medication if needed. Best in spring and autumn."
