A 16-kilometer linear riverside park along the Jialing, where exposed giant boulders during low water season and a strikingly out-of-place pure white lighthouse create a scene that looks entirely wrong for inland western China — and entirely right.

That white lighthouse standing between the rocks and the river produces a pleasant geographical disorientation — this is unmistakably Chongqing, but it looks like Scandinavia. The park draws cyclists, campers, anglers, runners and families all at once, wrapped in greenery the entire way."
