The Gothic-style Teresa Catholic Church and the adjacent Protestant Gospel Church stand side by side, carefully restored after wartime damage and now sitting directly inside the Jiangbeizui financial district, surrounded on all sides by some of the city's tallest glass towers.

The Gothic spires framed against the hyper-modern CBD behind them produce one of the most striking architectural time-collision images in all of Chongqing. The Gospel Church next door still holds genuine Sunday services — if you attend, dress respectfully and do not photograph during worship."
