About this place

Eleven themed museums built inside 24 interconnected WWII-era air-raid shelters that once housed the Hanyang Arsenal relocated to Chongqing — one of China's most distinctive museum complexes, covering everything from wartime weapons manufacturing to folk customs to 70 years of New China history.

Drifter says

"Take Metro Line 2 or Ring Line to Xiejiawan Station, Exit B, then walk about 10 minutes. Ticket 50 RMB, or 70 RMB for the combo with Destroyer 166 — do the combo. Open 9am to 5:30pm. It is cold and damp inside the caves even in summer — bring a light layer. Give yourself at least 3 hours. The weapons manufacturing museum and the WWII artifacts museum are the strongest. Pairs naturally with Destroyer 166 as a full-day Jiulongpo history itinerary."
