About this place
A Qing dynasty complex that carries three hundred years of migration history — built by merchant immigrants who left Huguang province and settled in Bayu, with carved eaves, opera stages, open courtyards and wooden screens preserved in remarkable condition.
Drifter says
"The ticket is modest, but most people photograph the gate and leave — everything worth seeing is inside. The opera stage in Yuwang Palace is the finest piece of craftsmanship in the complex; the wood carving rewards close attention. For anyone who travels at a slower pace and cares about depth over efficiency, budget at least an hour. Walk a few minutes toward the river after leaving and you arrive at Baixiang Street — the most natural two-stop sequence in this part of the city."
