"Don't just look at the flowers. Rent a scooter and explore the winding village roads, then sit down with one of the old farmers in a courtyard. Many of their families have been shaping bonsai here for five generations — using wire and chisels to spend decades bending ordinary trees into miniature mountain landscapes of traditional Chinese aesthetics. This kind of patience and craft has almost vanished from modern city life."
