About this place

From 1896 onward, France, the United States, Britain and Germany successively established diplomatic offices here. The consulates have since relocated, but the former French consulate and other historic buildings remain — a direct witness to the city's diplomatic history.

Drifter says

"It's mostly a quiet residential street now, with colonial-era brick buildings scattered between ordinary homes. The river views from here are excellent, and it offers a genuine break from the intensity of the CBD. Walking these stones, it's hard to imagine that more than a hundred years ago, diplomats from four different nations were living side by side on this single lane."
