The jiugongge snack platter is essential — nine compartments, nine different Chongqing specialties, one plate that covers more ground than an afternoon of wandering. The garlic pork paired with homemade fruit wine is the soul combination here. Prices are almost embarrassingly reasonable. Arrive before 6pm or you'll be waiting on a plastic stool outside — which, honestly, is part of the atmosphere. Places like this are getting harder to find in Chongqing."
