Save your time for the Jiangnan water garden section: in Chongqing's characteristic soft mist, curved eaves and lake reflections genuinely merge into one. Find a lakeside tea pavilion and sit down — you'll get shots here with an East Asian ink-wash quality unavailable in any other city. Free entry, no reservation needed, 12-kilometer oxygen trail, flat and well-signposted. Budget three to four hours minimum; the park's internal sightseeing shuttle is available if you need it."
