"Don't walk on the interchange itself. Take Metro Line 1 or 3 to Lianglukou Station, then ride the Crown Escalator (2 RMB) all the way up. At the top, walk to the cliff-edge viewing railing. From here you look straight down at the full double-spiral structure with the river and bridges behind it. Blue hour — the 20 minutes after sunset when the sky turns deep blue and the traffic lights come on — is when this photographs best. The interchange and the escalator together make one complete experience."
